Two Thousand And Seven

I just need to say this out loud. Listen.

When you are saying a number such as 2007, it is pronounced Two Thousand Seven, not Two Thousand and Seven. By saying the word "and" you are actually denoting that there is a decimal point in the number that you are saying.

That being said, there has apparently been a severe lapse in intelligence amongst news media icons and anchors, as everyone from Katie Couric, to Hilary Clinton, and pretty much the entire Pittsburgh general reporting team have seem to have forgotten this basic and simple principle.

So remember, if you want to sound intelligent, saying the word "and" when pronouncing a number should only be used if you want to indicate that there is a decimal point contained within it.

BooYah!!!!
